Anyone over 18 who suffers from excessive sweating (not depending on the external temperature) within the armpit area and/or hands and/or feet.
Even though this treatment is not popular yet, it is indeed very effective. It quickly restores a NORMAL and long-lasting sweating activity, dramatically improving the patient's social life and clothes care.
It is always recommended to first discuss with the doctor all the options available among the different techniques and materials in order to clarify every doubt and get the best result possible.

SAFETY

EVERY medical treatment must be performed in medical or surgical ambulatory care facilities, in full respect of hygienic norms, and this one is no exception. The facility must be equipped to face possible (rare but dangerous) reactions to the treatment itself, and all its sanitary authorizations should be prominently displayed and verifiable.
Make sure what kind and how much of the substance is going to be used asking the doctor anything you need to know.
DO NOT TRUST (!) anyone who performs medical procedures in inadequate facilities (if it is no emergency as in case of first aid).

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROCEDURE

The complete procedure includes a simple test to "map" thoroughly the position of the glands that release an excessive amount of sweat (Minor Test with simple starch powder and alcohol-iodine solution).
In case the areas to be treated include hands and feet, it will be necessary to undergo the treatment under local anaesthesia through local injection at the root of the sensory nerves (wrists and ankles).
During the treatment the patient will experience pain within the treated areas which can be compared to a burning sensation that quickly goes away, therefore no anaesthesia is needed.
Each ambulatory session consists in local microinjections of botulinum toxin type A in the areas to be treated.
If the treatment is performed properly, very good results can be achieved.

DURATION AND REPEATABILITY

At the end of the treatment the treated area may become a little reddish/swollen, but it usually gets back to normal after a few hours.
It may take a few days for the treatment to bring about the desired effect, which usually lasts from 3 up to 5 months, depending on the patient's predisposition.

COSTS

Considering the wide range of prices of the substance used, the expenses to manage an adequate facility and of course the amount of the substance used, this treatment can cost from 500€ up to 800€.
